During the past thirty years, rapid advances in digital technologies have changed the ways in which medicine is practiced.  Continuous performance enhancements of Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance (MR) and Ultrasound (US) equipment among others have enabled medical imaging modalities to bring previously non-available accuracy and specificity to clinical diagnostic and treatment.

Recently, the digital technology is revolutionizing all aspects of traditional radiography and in combination with PACS is poised to create a filmless environment which together with Computer Assisted Diagnostics (CAD) tools and tele-radiology will provide for better care at lower costs.

At the core of digital radiography stands a new class of highly sophisticated sensors called Flat Panel Detectors. The early ones were made using scintillators and photodiodes (Indirect Conversion Method) whereas the newest ones are based on amorphous photo-conductors (Direct Conversion Method).

It is Anrad Corporation’s mission to become the recognized world leader and preferred supplier of amorphous Selenium based Direct Conversion detectors and Subsystems for digital x-ray applications.
